Anyone up for helping an author out?

Published May 16, 2012 by Ema Volf

I’m not sure how many of you have read The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter serial novel by Jennifer Malone Wright. If you haven’t, YOU SHOULD! Part 1 on its own is free for Kindle and Nook if you don’t believe me! If you have read even Part 1, can you please post the review on the Collector’s Edition page?

As an extra incentive, she’s giving away 3 bumper stickers in a drawing. Posting the review is how you enter! After you post your review, send her a message with your mailing address to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter page on Facebook and she’ll get your stuff to you! EVERYONE who posts the review will get a Vampire Hunter’s Daughter bookmark, The Birth of Jaiden bookmark, and a business card! All of them will be autographed! Also, if she hits 50 by tomorrow, she will add a special swag product into the drawing! Please help her out and share!

UPDATE!

When she hits 50, the amazing JH Glaze has offered a PRINT copy of his book, The Spirit Box, for the drawing! I haven’t finished this one yet, but well over halfway through and so far it’s AMAZING! Definitely will be an awesome win!

Also, a little birdy told me that the ebook version will be free tomorrow! Make sure to pick it up!

Energy – The Awakening by MJ Schutte

Published May 10, 2012 by Ema Volf

So today I finished Energy – The Awakening by MJ Schutte. It’s the first book of The Energy Chronicles. I gave this one 4 of 5 stars.

This is a story about Lilian and Brighton. It has a bit of a coming of age feel at first and then we get to watch their relationship develop. We also get to watch them discover their abilities and, of course, use them.

The best stories are those with lessons. This one definitely has that. And I think it was pretty well thought out and executed.

It was a very touching story and gives you a bit to think about as well. If you’d like to read this one, click the title above.

Miranda’s Second Chance by Brandi Ratliff

Published May 4, 2012 by Ema Volf

Random fact about me: I don’t really read much erotica, but I do  enjoy it from time to time if it’s done well.

That being said, this morning I decided to pick one up. This one was called Miranda’s Second Chance and it was written by the beautiful Brandi Ratliff.

The book is about a woman, Miranda, who was getting ready for her  bachelorette party camping in the woods with her friends before she was, for lack of a better way to say it, dropped on her butt by her jerkoff fiance, Aaron. She decided to take her camping trip anyways, but left her friends behind so that she could spend her post-breakup mourning period in peace. Drunken hilarity ensues and she runs across a smexy forest ranger named Nate. Aaaand that’s really all I’m giving away about the story line. LOL!

One of my biggest complaints about erotica, in general, is the fact that usually the leading males are portrayed as testosterone-filled a-holes who are just out for a good time just to drop the girl on her butt later. Sometimes she’ll care. Usually she won’t. Doesn’t matter to me, really. Just having to read through him being a complete loser for the entirety of the book is just very unsexy to me and defeats the purpose of a steamy read. I find that sort of attitude extremely distracting. Some readers don’t mind that in the slightest. This reader does.

I have to give this author MAJOR props, because she didn’t write this guy off that way at ALL. At first, he came off as adorable and helpful, and I have to admit, shortly after we meet him in the book he had a moment that I found a bit awkward and almost creepy, but not so much that I couldn’t let it go when we got to know him a bit better. But he TOTALLY redeemed himself and overall I find him humorous and even a bit of a romantic. If I weren’t married, and it were totally possible, I’d almost want to pull him through the pages. LOL!

That being said, if you’d like to read this book, you can find it here for Kindle.

Have you ever read a book that you had such a hard time putting down that you read it way into the night and early morning until you eventually passed out and your book/e-reader fell on your face? Yeah that’s how this book was!

If you love vampire romances this is definitely for you! The wait for the next one is going to be so painful!
